Tuesday September 3: Welcome aboard today as we depart for Upper Canada to the Georgian Bay area for a “Grand Adventure”. We will travel along today making our 1st night’s stay at Hotel Quebec, Quebec. I have arranged a delicious Group Dinner at the Hotel for us tonight (included)
Wednesday September 4: After a great night’s sleep and scrumptious breakfast we will depart and travel to Whitby, Ontario to overnight at the Residence Inn & Suites. A light Supper is included at the hotel this evening.
Thursday September 5: This morning after breakfast we will travel a short distance to the beautiful town of Midland which is situated at the gateway to Georgian Bay’s picturesque 30,000 Islands. We will be making our home here for the next 3 nights at the beautiful Midland Inn & Suites. Before checking in we have a full day planned for you. Once we arrive we will make our way to the waterfront area where you will have time for a little shopping and lunch on your own. At 1:30 PM we will meet to board for our 2:00 PM Cruise on the Miss Midland where you will experience the sparkling water, windswept pines and rocky grandeur of Georgian Bay’s 30,000 Islands. This tour will last 2 ½ hours and has upper open deck and an lower closed in deck. Don’t forget your camera!
Once our afternoon cruise comes to an end we will make our way to the Boathouse waterside restaurant for a delicious group meal (included) before calling it a day. “Have a great night’s sleep after our 1st outdoors day adventure”
Friday September 6: After Breakfast this morning we will welcome onboard Nancy a local Tour Guide who will enlighten with the history of the beautiful Georgian Bay area. The Motor Coach will depart at 8:45 AM for our 2nd day’s adventure. We will make our first stop today at the Martyrs’ Shrine in Midland which is consecrated to the memory of the Canadian Martyrs, six Jesuit Martyrs and two Lay persons from the mission of Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. You will enjoy a complimentary tour of Martyrs’ Shrine and a talk on the Canadian Martyrs. We will then travel a very short distance to the Saint- Marie among the Hurons where you can marvel at a world that existed over 370 years ago. Ontario’s first European Community was the headquarters for the French Jesuit Mission to the “Huron Wendat People”. This impressive reconstruction takes you back in time to a story of cultural contact, determination, drama and survival. This will be a guided tour. As the morning comes to an end we will enjoy lunch (included) at the beautiful on site Restaurant Sainte-Marie.
This afternoon we will travel to the Muskoka Lake Region which has some 1,600 lakes, making it a popular cottage destination. Sit back and enjoy the breath taking Scenery. We will be making a special visit to the Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery –Home of the Johnston Cranberries. There you will enjoy a Wagon Ride Tour to the Cranberry Bog where you will learn about the growing & harvesting of Cranberries. Before we leave you will have an opportunity to visit their store which offers a variety of cranberry items, preserves & gift ware. After another full day we will make our way back to Midland for a group Meal (included) before returning to the hotel.
Saturday September 7: After Breakfast this morning we will welcome Nancy our guide back and depart from the hotel at 8:00 AM. This morning we will make our way towards Collingwood which will entail a scenic view of the Wasaga Beach area. Our guide will point out a few interesting historical landmarks as well. Arriving in Collingwood you will have ample time to visit the Farmers Market and visit the downtown shops of this quaint little Town (lunch on your own).
We will depart Collingwood at 11:30 AM and travel a short distance to the beautiful Blue Mountains. We will take a must drive up the Mountain so you can enjoy a breath taking view of the Town of Collingwood. Great picture stop!! We will then make our way back down the mountain and spend a little time in the pretty little Blue Mountain Village. For the more adventurous hop on the Gondola for a fabulous scenic view!! Enjoy!
The Coach will depart the Village at 1:30 PM and travel a short distance to Thornbury/Clarksburg area where we will visit the Sheffield Park Black History Museum where the history of early Black Pioneers in Simcoe and Grey Counties is preserved restored and experienced. This Museum offers a very educational experience spanning slavery to the Underground Railroad to the fight for civil rights. Enjoy your time here.
We will end our afternoon with a scenic view of the many Apple Orchards along the way before stopping in Thornbury for a delicious Group Meal at Maiolo’s Restaurant. Once we finish our meal we will make our way back to Midland with a picture stop along the way of the beautiful Wasaga Beach Sunset. As we arrive at our hotel we will say our Good-Byes to our wonderful Tour Guide Nancy who has left us with lots of new memories and history of another part of our Great Country we call Canada. Eh!!
Sunday September 8: After breakfast and with much regret we will have to say good-bye to the awesome 3 days we have spent here the beautiful Georgian Bay area. We travel along today to Historical Kingston – Canada’s First Capital arriving early afternoon. We will overnight at the new Quality Inn & Suites, but first we will welcome on board Ray a local tour guide who will enlighten us on this Historical City of Kingston. Sit back & enjoy the beautiful City of Kingston and all the history that has taken place here. Kingston was the first capital of a United Canada, was home to Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister, and boasts North America's oldest continuously-running public market in Market Square, behind Kingston City Hall — itself a National Historic site.
Mid –Afternoon we will make our way back to the Hotel to check in and freshen up for a Night out! I have arranged a “Thousand Islands Sunset Dinner Cruise” for you which includes a 3 course meal, live music along with the spectacular scenery of the Thousand Islands. You are in for a Grand Evening!!
Monday September 9: After a great night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast we will journey east towards Quebec City arriving early afternoon in time for a City Tour of Old Quebec before we check into Hotel Quebec for our last night stay. I have arranged a farewell Dinner at the Hotel this evening (included).
Tuesday September 10: Today after Breakfast we will travel homeward taking several breaks along the way. We will arrive home early evening taking with us some wonderful pictures and fond memories of an awesome “ Northern Canadian Classic Vacation”.
